5 on Friday!

Happy Fridayyyyy!!!

Seriously, I'm so pumped that it is finally Friday. I've been working since Sunday (yes, Sunday). So this is day 6 in a row and I'm just over it.

Now that I'm trying to blog more,  I had to come back to the 5 on Friday link up! So here we go!

one// This has been a WEEK. Oh my gosh. Sometimes, unfortunately, work is just filled with drama. Most of the time, it's bearable, but this week it was hard to spend 9 hours a day dealing with it all. I also was put in the unfortunate situation of overhearing one of my employees say they had a drink with their lunch and then came back to work... Obviously, that's not okay and now I'm in a position to deal with it. Sometimes being the boss is no fun.

two// One of my best friends got engaged over last weekend! We cheered together in the early high school years and moved on to show choir in the later high school years. We used to spend hours agonizing over boys who had no idea we existed. We moved on to separate colleges but that never stopped us from spending our days talking about cute boys.

Although she wasn't technically a bridesmaid in my wedding, she basicallyyyy was. She was there at the shower, came down for my Bachelorette weekend and then surprised me by standing up when I got down the aisle with my dad and singing a beautiful song during our ceremony. It completely blew me away!

Top right.. I swear I wasn't ACTUALLY that tan. The filter made that orange high school tan look even worse :O
And now it's her turn! I cannot wait to start planning and I've already promised to make sure she's just as hungover as I was for my Bachelorette ;)

three// You need to see pictures of Zuko of course. Don't be surprised if there's a whole post about this guy again pretty soon...

He likes to Snapchat like all good kitties do.
Sleepy Snuggles.
I spy a frustrated kitty because he can't reach Mom and Dad.
four// Last weekend, Christian started some of the house projects we have planned. I plan to post on some of our projects as we get them done, but the first has finally started! We wanted to do something a little different and decided to build benches with storage in the corner of our breakfast nook for our kitchen table! So we spent Saturday afternoon gathering all the supplies and let me tell you... home ownership really teaches you how to navigate a Home Depot.

five// Queen's Feast! Twice a year, there's something called Charlotte Restaurant week, or Queen's Feast. I've never gotten to go since moving to Charlotte but last night we finally went! Overall, it was a great time, but not perfect. We made an 8pm reservation since I get off work at 7:30, yet we were not seated until after 9:15. Needless to say we were STARVING. Luckily, everything was delicious so it kind of made up for it.

Wedding Wednesday {Bridal Shower}

Guess whose back, back, back. Back again (this week). Seriously, this is exciting. A

And I'm going to talk about our wedding!

Well, actually, my bridal shower.

A few months before the shower, my best friend and I had one of our marathon phone calls ( we live 12 hours apart) and she asked me my idea of what I wanted.

I said "well... I've pinned a couple things on Pinterest I liked.. I love the idea of a dainty little tea party. And I picture it outside. But I hate summer so I don't know how it'll work. I also saw these things with lemonade in them that were cute."

That's literally all I said. And this is what happened...

This was the food table. She took most of the pictures before the caterer arrived.

These adorable mini cupcakes were made by my bridesmaid, Kristin, and had adorable silver sprinkles on them.

Gift table.

Details of the table.

The yummy food.
My bridesmaid, Sam's, brother owns his own restaurant and catered the yummy finger foods!

One of my favorite gifts. My Aunt embroidered these towels and matching hand towels for us. It actually started to feel super real when I opened these and saw my new last name!

These girls are some of the best people I've ever known. They made this day perfect.

Julie, on the far right, went to college with Sam (blue stripes), Kristin (blue dress) and I. She didn't tell anyone she was coming to the shower and I didn't see her when I first walked in. The second I saw her, I almost cried! She drove FIVE hours just to spend the afternoon with me! Talk about a great friend.

My Maid of Honor.
She planned this entire event from Indiana. She had never been to Charlotte and has no idea where anything is and she reserved this place sight unseen, yet it turned out perfectly. She drove down to NC almost 12 hours with all of the supplies in her car. Her parents then drove up from Georgia to set everything up without me even knowing until a couple days before - and trust me, I totally tried to stop it once I knew!

I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life and this girl blew me away with everything she planned for the events leading up to mine and Christian's big day.

Also, I can't believe my hair was so long. I just cut it and I've already forgotten.

My shower fell on a terrible weekend for most people that were invited, but I barely noticed that it was smaller than planned once all the fun began. I had some of my closest friends, my closest family members and of course, my great mother in law there to celebrate Christian and myself and we had such a blast.

Hey.

So I had every intention of rejoining the blogging world the first week of January. It was even one of my "resolutions"... I don't really set resolutions, I just set little things to start working towards and blogging was one of those.

We see how well that worked...

Another one was cooking dinner most nights out of the work week since I got a new schedule. Yes, I'm working 10:30-7:30 now instead of the 3p-midnight I've been working for a year and a half!!! And I'm doing much better with that one so one point for me!

I also said I was going to eat a little better and drink a little less Coke. Every day that gets easier and easier. Maybe by November, I'll be working out ;)

I'm expecting 2015 to be a great year. Nothing too crazy - I mean we planned a wedding, got married, got a promotion (or two in my case) and bought a house last year. We're kind of filled up on the "big life events" for right now. But, that doesn't mean 2014 can't be great.

2015 will be filled with love and adventures and coming back to this blog is one of those adventures I'd like to embark on.

So here I am putting fingers to keyboard trying to kick myself in the butt and get something out here on this blog. This week I'm going to highlight some of the great things that happened in my hiatus - moving into our house, our first Christmas, a promotion and oh yeah, I dunno, our wedding.

I hope Wedding Wednesday is still a thing around here because I've got a shower, Bachelorette party, and an entire wedding weekend to cover! I can't wait to share it all with you since you all were here to share in the stress of the wedding planning!

So Happy Monday! And let's see if this happens again tomorrow... ;)

I'll leave you with one of my favorite wedding pictures. Garrett Price is a genius.
